WESTON MAKE THEIR FIRST SIGNINGS OF THE NEW SEASON

Weston-super-Mare AFC have today signed on Blue Square Registration forms Simon Gilbert, Kane Ingram, Craig Rand, Jamie Laird, Dayle Grubb and Rhys Farmer who have all impressed at pre-season training.

Manager Craig Laird said “their will be more signings over the next few friendlies” and he was impressed with the turnout to pre-season training “we have had over 30 players and will have to cut that by half over the next few weeks”, “Its been a positive start, we have had players of all different levels, and I’m really looking forward to the start of the Season.”

Scott Gilbert (Pictured) played for Almondsbury Town last season. A midfield player who has also played for Larkhall Athletic, Chippenham Town and Bath City.

Kane Ingram played for Cinderford Town last season having signed from Paulton Rovers in January 2010. An attacking Midfielder who has also played for Almondsbury, Bath City and Bristol City. Has already worn the Weston Shirt when playing in a friendly back in 2007.

Jamie Laird, son of manager Craig Laird has also made the short distance from Bridgwater Town. Defender who was a former Plymouth Argyle trainee before playing in Sweden and Italy.

Craig Rand, who was appointed Club and Team Captain a few weeks ago, is looking forward to the start of the season which will be his sixth since signing from Team Bath.

Dayle Grubb who was almost a permanent fixture in last years squad has also been registered and Rhys Farmer will also join the 1st team next season.
